On Tuesday 19th May the Nursery, Reception and 3 – 5 room children in Day Care will be having a sponsored sing-a-long in the school hall to raise funds for improving the outside area to help the children enjoy Foundation Stage learning even more.
The children will learn 10 assorted songs to entertain you and we would love you to join us in the audience. Admission costs 20p which enters you into a free prize draw.
The morning performance will start at 10.45 am for morning nursery and day care, full time nursery and reception. The afternoon performance will start at 2.15 p.m. for afternoon nursery and day care, full time nursery and reception.
Please collect all the sponsor money & bring it into Nursery, Day Care or Reception by Friday 12th June, so that we can let you know the Grand Total before the end of term.
If you need an additional sponsor form please come in and ask!
The children at nursery love telling us their news about what they have done at home, at the weekend or in the holidays.
So that we can add this news to their profiles we are asking if you can spend some time with your child helping them to write down something they have done over a weekend or if they have been somewhere after nursery. It doesn’t have to be lots of information, just a few words, a pictures or photograph.
Extra speech bubbles will be available from your child’s teacher or on the notice board for whenever your child wants to share some news!
If you have any questions please see your child’s teacher.
Happy news writing!
Hello and welcome back to the summer term.
It is great to say hello to some new children and also welcome back to Mrs Whitley and Mrs Adshead who have been working in the reception class.
We hope you have a fun term!
We have been learning about how to grow plants in nursery. We have planted some sunflower seeds and they have started to grow!
Please can you help me to look after my plant at home? I need to keep it somewhere warm and sunny, and remember to give it some water when the soil gets a bit dry. When it has grown some more and the weather is warmer I can put it in a bigger pot or in the garden.
Mrs Jeffrey says we can find out who has grown the tallest sunflower by taking photos and measuring them as they grow!
Any excuse to look silly…
Next Friday, 13th March, is Red Nose Day. We are asking the nursery children to join in the fun by coming to nursery wearing as many different colours as they can. We will also be busy with lots of activities to do with colours.
Don’t forget a small donation to support this good cause too
We had a great time in nursery today. It was exciting seeing all of our friends dressed as people from stories. Can you guess who we are?

Don’t forget this Thursday is World Book Day. The nursery teachers are looking forward to guessing which book characters the children have come dressed as.
The teachers also hope the children will be able to guess who they are dressed as!
We are really pleased with our new slide outside – it is great fun! We are enjoying finding lots of ways to slide down. Some of us have pretended to be rockets and wait at the top for 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, blast off before sliding down. We can’t wait to see what other things are going to change outside…

Just before half term we had great fun when it snowed really heavily. The flakes were huge and the children loved trying to catch them on their tongues or in their hands. There was enough to throw a snowball or two but sadly not enough to make a snowman!

If you haven’t already guessed the highlight of our party was a visit from the man himself. It was all very exciting from the moment we heard the bells on the reindeer and a big voice booming “Ho, ho, ho” as he appeared in nursery. Santa seemed very pleased to see us and we all convinced him we had been good boys and girls all year so that he would come to visit us at home. He was very kind and brought us present each. We were kind too and gave him a party cake and some carrots for the reindeer.
